Hi, there is nowhere in or near Volcano.  Closest is Hilo (40 minute drive) or Kona (2 hour drive). hi lisa! my husband and i will be flying into honolulu around mid-may. We want to island hop to two islands using about 5-6 days to do it.  We already have our flight to and from honolulu.
 
What 2 would you suggest and what airline/hotel would you use? We do not care to be in an isolated, very quiet environment. We want to be near beach/activity/restaurants, etc.

We are planning our first vacation to Hawaii with an extended family group.  They all want to go to Maui.  My questions are: 
1. where are best sandy beaches? They mentioned Kaanapali, but the pictures look rocky - is it rocky?

    My husband and I will be visiting five of the islands in April and May. We are bringing his handicapped placcard for parking, it hangs on the rear view mirror. We arrive at OGG at 3:30pm on 2/4/6 and need a flight that evening to Kona. We would then need to go from Kona to LIH on 2/10/6 and finally from LIH back to OGG on 2/14/6. Found your helpful website through googling.  Was wondering if you could do my homework for me.  Just kidding!  Anyway, I was wondering if you know if there's a hostel near Aloha Stadium?  Perhaps the closest one to the stadium?  Also, I heard that it's not an area where people can't walk around easily, so relying on public transportation is more appropriate? Can one bike around?
