| We hiked out about a mile each way to the active lava flow and took this picture of an ooze of lava many years ago - maybe in 1998 or 99. It was moving very, very slowly. It was hot, hot, hot out on the old black lava flow with the new lava all around us. Hot and unforgiving if you fall down. Sometimes it's easy to get out to the lava like this and sometimes it's impossible. |
