| Kaunaoa beach is a perfect beach that is in front of the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. Only a limited number of cars are allowed in the gate to park in the hotel's public parking every day, so if you aren't staying at the Mauna Kea, get there early - by 9, I would say. Just tell the gate guard where you are going and they will give you a pass. This is kind of irritating if you are there too late to get in, but it's nice for the beach. It stays uncrowded and clean. |
