Wailea MarriottPictures below, click on the picture for a larger one We stayed at the Wailea Marriott in August of 2004. It was my husband and I, plus our son who was about a year and a half old. We picked the Marriott because of the kid's pool with the really fantastic water structure and slides. The Marriott is really an Outrigger hotel, which is a good, usually inexpensive for the quality, brand here in Hawaii. We were happy with the room, it was a little bigger than rooms we usually stay in. It had a large bathroom area and a comfortable bed. The grounds were very sculpted, full of palm trees and tropical flowers and a fish pond - plus three pools. There is no beach fronting the hotel but it is an extremely short walk to a beach on either side. Wailea Beach is just to the left, looking at the ocean, and it is one of the best "playing" beaches on all of Maui. The ocean views are just beautiful, with an island seemingly towering just off-shore. We greatly enjoyed our time at this hotel and would definitely go back. Even though Wailea is towards the south end of the island, Maui is small enough that it is not a big deal. We drove up to Lahaina and even up past Napili and it didn't take more than an hour (to Lahaina). |
